Formed in 1965 in Los Angeles, California, American rock n' roll band The Turtles, were part of the swinging sixties storm that blew in a wave of chart-topping hits, which all began with their cover of Bob Dylan's hit, "It Ain't Me Babe". The Turtles had a succession of top 40 ditties like "She'd Rather Be with Me", "You Showed Me", and "You Baby", to name a few. But the main turning point of The Turtles' career came with the release of their signature song "Happy Together". In the spring of 1967, "Happy Together" booted out The Beatles' "Penny Lane" from the number one spot in Billboard's Hot 100.
