David Bowie is a six-time Grammy Award-winning singer-songwriter from London, England. The prolific musician was regarded as among the most influential personality of the 20th century. Bowie emerged in 1963 and released his debut single, “Liza Jane,” with the King Bees one year later. After releasing his first single, Bowie continued to drop non-album singles until his breakthrough in 1969. That year, he released “Space Oddity,” which topped the U.K. chart and peaked at number 15 on the US Billboard Hot 100. The song was spawned from Bowie’s self-titled debut album, released in 1976. After his breakthrough, Bowie dropped several more critically acclaimed and career-defining efforts. In 1971, Bowie dropped the rock opera album Ziggy Stardust. The album sold over 1.5 million copies in the U.K. and over 500,000 in the U.S. Two years later, he released his first album to go number 1. Aladdin Sane topped the U.K. chart and peaked at number 17 on the Billboard 200.
Bowie has released 26 studio albums and over 120 singles throughout his five-decade career. He has earned six Grammy Awards, four Brit Awards, four MTV Video Music Awards, a Daytime Emmy Award, and the list goes on. Moreover, he was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1996.
This 2023, Celebrating David Bowie Live in Concert will bring his music back to life through the help of acclaimed musicians, such as Peter Murphy, Adrian Belew, Scrote, Royston Landon, and Eric Schermerhorn. The band will also be joined by notable musicians saxophonist Ron Dziubla and A Perfect Circle members Matt McJunkins and Jeff Friedl.
