Westbury Music Fair
Picture this, you’re sitting in a circular theater on a warm night in March; the lights go dark. People start screaming and hollering, and then all of a sudden, you hear a voice a bit from a distance start singing, “I've been hangin' around gas stations, I've been learnin' 'bout tires!” It’s not necessarily 1972 all over again, but it may feel like it. Canada’s own Burton Cummings from “The Guess Who” is coming to the Flag Star at Westbury Music Fair on Saturday, March 15th, 2025. This stop is part of his 60th anniversary tour. Those are a lot of years in the music industry, but Cummings has proven that he’s still got plenty of gas left in the tank.
He’ll be in the middle of the circular theater at the piano, singing all the best songs from his time with the iconic band and his solo career. There’s no telling whether a show like this will ever come back to Westbury, New York. Click the get tickets button to catch it live!
Here’s the question that everyone asks when it comes to Burton Cummings. Does he sing “American Woman” on his live shows? The answer is … yes! At least according to some whistle-blowers who’ve been to his concerts recently, it appears Cummings does, in fact, have the green light to sing all the hits from his time with “The Guess Who.” In fact, the official tour poster has a legend that reads “From the original The Guess Who.” Whether Cummings left on good terms or not, he’s still waving the flag of the band and singing “Clap for the Wolfman” and “Hand Me Down World,” amongst other tracks, at his solo concerts. Very much to the delight of the fans. If you head to the Flag Star at Westbury Music Fair on Saturday, March 15th, 2025, you can share in that delight.
It’s amazing to see a living legend on stage still doing his thing! One of the coolest elements of these Burton Cummings shows at this stage in his career is that he’ll deliberately use some of the downtime between songs to tell stories. You’re going to be in the crowd to not only get a chance to catch a live rendition of “American Woman” but you’ll also be getting the inside scoop of how the song came about. Who cares if there are some dudes moving things around in the background? It’s a night to enjoy like a glass of fine wine. In small sips with no hurries, everything that’s coming from the stage is a gem.
Once March 15th draws closer, more of the theater will likely open up to ensure that as many people as possible have a chance to be a part of this 60th-anniversary tour. It’s a hard call, though, to wait around and take the risk of not finding tickets. Legends like Burton Cummings aren’t on tour as often anymore for obvious reasons. Getting a chance to see a living icon still perform with amazing energy is a real treat. With that in mind, you really should click that get tickets button and find the best seat at the Flag Star at Westbury Music Fair for this event!
