He was born into an entertainment legacy. He has an exceptional ear for audio perfection. He is adventurous and creative. He has an illustrious career that would be the envy of any musician. He is all about excellence, off-the-chart musicianship, sensational sound, and great music.
It is undeniable: Alan Parsons is a legendary figure in the music world on multiple levels.
Alan Parsons quietly snuck into the music industry as an assistant engineer on The Beatles’ albums “Abbey Road” and “Let It Be”, as well as Pink Floyd’s “The Dark Side Of The Moon”. Together with songwriter and producer Eric Woolfson, they co-founded the Alan Parsons Project and released their debut album, “Tales Of Mystery And Imagination” in 1976, a concept album based upon the works of Edgar Allan Poe that reached the Top 40 on the Billboard 200 chart. The single “The Raven” became the first rock song to utilize a vocorder. All in all, The Alan Parsons Project had eight Top 40 records and produced a string of eight gold and platinum albums.
Initially, the Alan Parsons Project was designed as a platform for a revolving collection of vocalists and session musicians. The goal was to interpret and perform Alan Parsons and Eric Woolfson’s conceptually linked, lushly arranged, and orchestrated music. In 1993, this platform became known as the Alan Parsons Live Project, and they have performed under this name ever since.
Alan Parsons’ latest works are taking a direction into the world of electronica. In his own words: “The industry is changing, and I feel the need to capture a different kind of audience while still keeping my identity. Electronic music is the fastest-growing music category right now, and I’m enjoying working with new people and new technology.”
The amazing theatre-in-the-round design of the Flagstar at Westbury Music Fair is as unique as the music of Alan Parsons Live Project. The venue boasts 3,000 seats, arranged in only eight rows around the stage, allowing the audience that up-close and personal feel, whether seated closer to the stage or on the mezzanine level in the top row.
If you are keen on a night chock-full with off-the-chart music, superb musicianship, and sensational sound, where the music speaks for itself, the Alan Parsons Live Project is it!
