Flagstar at Westbury Music Fair
All great things must come to an end. Unfortunately for Spanish music legend Paloma San Basilio, it’s time to sing “Las Golondrinas” and put an end to her touring career. She’s embarking on her “Gracias Tour,” which is slated to be the 70-plus-year-old’s final time on stage. The Flagstar at Westbury Music Fair will be one of her stops. This event will take place on Sunday, October 13, 2024. It’s hard to say goodbye, but one of the great things about the occasion is that San Basilio is still at the peak of her powers. You can expect a nostalgic and emotional night at the NYCB Theatre at Westbury with a performer who hasn’t lost her famous vocal range.
It goes without saying that this is going to be the last stop by Paloma San Basilio in Westbury, New York. If you want to be part of the farewell tour, click the get tickets button today!
Paloma San Basilio has been one of the more popular Spanish singers for decades. Part of that success comes from being able to combine a career in musical theater with her solo act as a singer. It was through theater and particularly playing former Argentine first lady Eva Peron in the production “Evita” that her career really took off. With this being her farewell tour, it wouldn’t be far-fetched for her to come out singing “No Llores Por Mi Argentina” in Westbury, New York. It’s going to be a nostalgic night just because, as you’re in the audience, you’ll know that this is likely the last chance to see her live. Then, when a lot of the hits start playing, there may not be many dry eyes left in the theater.
A lot of the songs in her repertoire are filled with 80s upbeat music. The intro to “Juntos” , one of her more popular tracks, is a perfect example of that. What’s really cool about these shows is that certain sounds from these songs are going to produce trips down memory lane if you’ve been a fan of Paloma’s for a long time. Although some tears are going to be shed, she’ll sing the happy songs as well. It’s one of those events that as a fan you need to be there. If you’re not then it could be a day you’ll look back on with regret. Even though Paloma is in her 70s, she’s still got plenty of glamour and her voice is as elegant as ever. It’s a perfect time to say goodbye at the top of her game.
The circular stage at the Flagstar at Westbury Music Fair scares off plenty of artists. Luckily, Paloma and her experience on stage in various capacities won’t have an issue with the setup. Still, as a fan you may want to be as close to her on this last night in New York. Click the get tickets button today to pick where you want to sit on this night. It promises to be an all-around great show with that touch of sentimentalism that could take the night over the top.
