Famous for covering 1970s and 1980s soft rock hits, Yachtley Crew is a Los Angeles band formed in 2017. Before dominating the national stage and taking over the yacht rock scene, the seven-piece crew made waves in the club scene — selling out countless local venues in the SoCal area. It would not take them long to start a nationwide Yacht Rock craze. With their signature attire, live performances, and audience appeal, the band quickly captured the hearts of fans coast to coast.
Anyone who has seen the band perform live never forgets them, as they sport an aesthetic vibe that matches the magic of their music. Their viral song covers helped ignite a resurgence of interest in the smooth sounds of yacht rock. Their indisputable skill in capturing the essence of the era and their unwavering commitment to authenticity catapulted them to the forefront of the genre, garnering them both fans and praise from critics. With this, they became known as "the Steel Panther of the high seas" and were dubbed the 2018 "Best Cover Band" by OC Weekly. They have performed alongside the original artists of the songs they play often, such as Looking Glass' Elliot Lurie and Player's Peter Beckett, on multiple occasions. For others, they may be another cover band, but to their fans, Yachtley Crew is more than that. In the words of the Las Vegas Review Journal, the band is "a trend-setter, a movement, an ocean spray to the face during the torrid summer months."
This 2024, the Yachtley Crew will be embarking on a tour to support their debut EP "Seas The Day." Released via Jimmy Buffett's Mailboat Records, the EP is produced and mixed by the Grammy award-winning Chris Lord-Alge. The six-track EP was preceded by the single "Sex in the Beach," a catchy original song that brings an 80s rock and RnB vibe.
"Seas the Day is a love letter to the fans who have made this all possible, and a dream come true to be on the Mailboat Records roster, alongside their incredible artists," says Chris Lord-Alge.
The tour will stop at New York's NYCB Theatre at Westbury on October 18. If you are looking for an incredible evening of soft rock music, this is the place to be. Batten down the hatches and prepare to set sail on a groovy voyage unlike any other! Tickets are now on sale, and you can get yours here by hitting the "Get Tickets" link.
